ABUJA, April 30, (NPM) – The federal government of Nigeria has once again postponed a census due to take place next week, and the new government will set a new date. The information ministry disclosed on Saturday. The census was scheduled for May 3-7; the ministry said they needed more planning time. The census has been postponed for the second time this year.
United Nations experts expect that the population of Nigeria, currently at 200 million, will double by 2050, making Nigeria the third most populous country. The other most populous countries are China and India, and Nigeria will overtake the United States by 2050.
